FREDDIE, HOW SURPRISED WERE YOU WHEN YOU HEARD WILL WAS COMING BACK ONTO THE CANVAS?

Freddie: I may have heard maybe a little bit before the script came. When you spend some time with some people, you get a little inside scoop if you will. I was very thrilled. I know the fans were really excited to have WilSon come back just because of the way that it ultimately ended. And now it’s kind of like we get to make our new ending so we’re very excited.

CHANDER, HOW HAS IT BEEN COMING BACK TO “DAYS OF OUR LIVES” AFTER ALL THE TIME THAT YOU’VE BEEN AWAY?

Chandler: It’s been a trip. I had a lot of nerves because I didn’t know if I still had it, if I still had the character I knew; so I had to take some time to get back and remind myself this is who this is and watch the episodes that I wasn’t in to pick up more personality characteristics and important moments.

CHRISTOPHER, WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION TO FIND OUT PAUL WAS BEING DISHONEST ABOUT SEEING WILL. THAT WAS PRETTY OUT OF CHARACTER FOR HIM.

Paul: Actually to be honest, I was surprised because it’s not typical of Paul. I was happy because…I mean come on…who really wants Will back, right? (laughs) I was excited because it means conflict. But to see how many people it affected; that kind of sucks…and poor Paul, right?

New Movie (9) (2).Movie_Snapshot

YOU ALL HAVE YOUR OWN DAYS OF OUR LIVES EMOJIS. HAVE YOU USED THEM?

Christopher: It’s like every sentence for me as a period; there’s a Paul emoji. I send it a lot to my friends and family; they’re getting sick of it.

Chandler: Remember me? This is what I look like.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE FANS USE YOUR EMOJIS IN A CREATIVE WAY?

Chandler:  Someone tweeted Sonny, Paul and Sami looking for Will; and they photoshopped their emoji faces over Scooby Doo characters. So at the end of every Scoopy Doo episode, they lift off the mask of the monster; and it was really Steve the librarian. But this time, it was Will’s face.

Christopher: I love emojis of Sonny and emojis of Paul just always together because it looks the best.

Chandler: Dark hair and dark hair; it’s a little too much dark hair. I think the best is a little contrast like light hair, dark hair. In emojiland, that’s highly coveted.

Christopher: Is it about how the outside looks or is it about the inside?

CHANDLER, HOW WAS IT WORKING WITH BRYAN DATTILO (LUCAS) AGAIN?

Chandler: So great; so great! Bryan brought his performance to a level I never saw him bring it before with the scenes in the church . Those were my first real scenes coming back; and I couldn’t have picked a better person to do the scenes with. He dispelled my nerves. It was my first day back; and you don’t know exactly if you’re going to be any good. But he has such a jovial and easygoing manner that really put me at ease and helped me go to work.

AND I WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT-OUT TO FREDDIE’S WEB SHOW, POSITIVE LIVING NATION. THERE WAS AN EPISODE RECENTLY WITH CHRISTOPHER SEAN THAT WAS SO INSPIRING.

Freddie: Christopher’s an amazing guy and I can’t wait to sit down with Chandler. We’ll want to come and hang. We just want to spread some positivity as much as possible.

Christopher: You’ve got to check it out. Freddie is so inspirational; and he’s going to feed you. When you listen to any one of these things that he does. It’s great. Freddie and Alyssa’s podcast. Check it out.

Freddie: I should take him everywhere with me…

Kassie dePaiva and Eric Martsolf (Eve and Brady, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) — Day of DAYS 2017

Enjoy highlights from the OutTakes interview with Kassie dePaiva and Eric Martsolf (Eve and Brady, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) at the Day of DAYS Universal CityWalk fan event, November 11th, 2017.

Kassie dePaiva and Eric Martsolf (Eve and Brady, DAYS OF OUR LIVES)

KASSIE, HOW SURPRISED WERE YOU WHEN EVE RETURNED TO SALEM AS MRS. DEIMOS KIRIAKIS?

Kassie: Eric’s character was more shocked than my character. But I was thrilled! Are you kidding? I get to have my cake and eat it too. Eve didn’t set out to be a bad person or anything. She genuinely was a woman in need and Deimos was offering services; and he happened to die. And…ha ha….she’s rich!

Eric: Whenever you want some honesty, you can put the microphone in my face now…

OKAY, ERIC, HOW SURPRISED WERE YOU TO SEE BRADY BLACKMAIL NICOLE INTO BREAKING ERIC’S HEART?

Eric: This is great. This is soap opera. This is what it is. It’s a convoluted triangle that has all of these different teams on it. And when you line them all up together, it’s absolute chaos. You don’t know who to root for.

Kassie: My fans are really wanting me to give it to Brady. I think that they think that you’re being really mean to Eve. I mean I have two fans out there…and they are very upset!

Eric: My fans think that you’re being ridiculous to me. I just had my heart ripped up. The Donovan sisters have done nothing but destroy my life so far!

Kassie: Boo hoo!

Eric: Eve took my company. Theresa took my heart and left me with my kid. I’ve had to babysit Tate for the last nine months! So obviously Kassie and I are having a great time working together.

Kassie: If you like the animosity between us, keep tuning in because it’s getting good!

Eric: The roller coaster is leaving the track. It gets nuts. It gets crazy.

Kassie: And I couldn’t ask for a better ping pong player. Eric’s awesome. He’s a great player, a great actor and an Emmy award winning actor too. So I’m really so honored.

Eric: And I’d like to return the compliment. This girl’s a tall drink of water. She’s talented. She delivers a line like it’s nobody’s business; and she’s funny as hell. She’s got all of the qualities that Eve Donovan should have. You’re going to love the portrayal of her character the second time around.

Kassie: It’s fun. We’re telling a story and trying to throw in as much color and splash as we can yet keep it as real as possible. Our characters have both gone through a lot…a lot of loss. So we will meet on that level and we are both fighting for the same; thing and that is our stake in the claim of Titan and Basic Black. So you’re on an adventure!

SO ERIC, YOU HAVE YOUR OWN DAYS OF OUR LIVES EMOJI. HAVE YOU ACTUALLY USED IT?

Eric: I have. I sent it to my wife the other day. She said, “That’s your face.” And I’m like, “Yeah, that’s the point.” She said, “Wow, you look really serious.” And I’m like, “Well, yeah, I’m a serious guy.” And my wife knows I’m not. I’m not Brady. I’m not this guy in the emoji. I’m a goofball. So it’s kind of funny to me because I look at that; and I’m like that’s definitely Brady and not Eric.

New Movie (6).Movie_Snapshot
Eric Martsolf imitating his DAYS OF OUR LIVES emoji of “Brady Black”

Kassie: Isn’t it funny? I’ve worked with my husband; and my husband would sometimes ask, when I would have some sexy lingerie on in a scene, “Why don’t you ever bring that home?” And I’d say, “Honey, you don’t pay me enough!” At home, are you romantic?

Eric: Not as romantic as Brady is. I can’t whisk my wife away on a private jet to Paris. I’d be like, “Hey, you want to get on American Airlines and go to wine country?”

Kassie: Well, if you don’t want your children to go to school or eat…

Eric: That’s the thing. I have to buy Cap’n Crunch and chicken at Costco. That’s not romantic. But it is romantic when I go, “Hey, babe, I’m at Costco. Is there anything I need? Can I pick up anything for you?” Can you see Brady doing that for Theresa?

Kassie: But you’ve done daytime and you’ve played out real romance. Does it ever come into your life?

Eric: I learn some things here and there. These writers know what they’re doing. They’ve been bringing 52 years of romanticism.

Kassie: And fantasy

Eric: They know what they’re doing so we can learn from these romantic creatures and cater after them.

Kassie: And the only thing you really learn is that after those romantic moments, something bad’s going to happen. So you’d better watch out!

SPEAKING OF YOUR HUSBAND, KASSIE, HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING JAMES DEPAIVA ON “GENERAL HOSPITAL”?

Kassie: I have been watching; and I’m kind of waiting to see what he’s going to do with his character. I think he feels the same way. We’re both fortunate. That’s how we met doing soaps. And it’s nice to see him on camera. It’s nice truly not to have to work with him. And I mean that in a good way. Because it’s nice to be a fan and watch him without me having to play in that sandbox.

KASSIE, WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT PLAYING EVE?

Kassie: I like her brokenness and I like the fact that she pulls upon all the sad broken places in her to find strength to carry on because I think that’s what we do in human nature. She’s very human. And she’s full of bravado. And she’s more broken than she puts on or that she thinks. It’s fun.

A VERY DIFFERENT CHARACTER FROM BLAIR ON “ONE LIFE TO LIVE”…

Kassie: They’re very different, but they wear the same bra size and shoe size.

Eric: You play screwed up women very well apparently, don’t you?

Kassie: I do!

Eric: I just realized how similar our freakin characters are! Hearing you say that, that would absolutely be my response about Brady as well. I love that Brady’s only riding on three wheels; and the guy is broken. He’s messed up. And to see somebody who’s searching for perfection when he’s so messed up, it’s interesting television to watch. He’s a layered character. He’s not perfect. And I love that about him.

Kassie: I think Ron Carlivati [headwriter of DAYS] knows that. These characters, whether its romantic or business or personal or familial, it will be elements of that because there is a fight and a desperation within the heart of both of these two characters to present themselves in a way that might not really be truthful to their basic nature.

Camila Banus and Lamon Archey (Gabi and Eli, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) — Day of DAYS 2017

WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR FAVORITE GABI AND ELI SCENES TOGETHER SO FAR?

Camila: The dance. For me, it was fun because I’m a dancer. They brought in a choreographer for us. I think it was Lamon’s second or third week. It was very fresh for him. To see him in such an uncomfortable position was very fun for me. It was just delicious! For him to go, “Camila, can we go over it again…please!” I could see the distress in his eyes happening; and I was enjoying every minute of it!

Lamon: For me personally, I thought it was going to be a little bit of freestyle. I thought we could just do whatever we wanted. They had a choreographer that was teaching us the steps. And I was like, “Wait. You want me to say lines too?! All of this together?” But we pulled it off. There was some great editing going on.

DAYS FANS MAY NOT KNOW THAT YOU WERE ON “DAYS OF OUR LIVES” AS AN ACTOR BEFORE PLAYING ELI…

Lamon: I was on DAYS twice. I played a new dad in a scene which I didn’t find out until later was actually about Gabi’s daughter. I was outside with Chandler; and he was tripping out because I guess he was nervous about the baby.
So he sees the father waiting.

Camila: Oh that was you?!

Lamon: Yeah, that was me. And another time I played a police officer. Really quick.

HOW DIFFERENT IS ELI FROM HOW YOUR CHARACTER OF MASON WILDER WAS ON “THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS”?

Lamon: Mason was a bad guy at “The Young and the Restless”. Completely different. Over at DAYS, I’m pretty straight and narrow. I was breaking all sorts of laws over at Y&R. Stealing credit cards and forging. There was a whole mess of stuff I was doing.

CAMILA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PLAYING THE CHARACTER OF GABI?

Camila: I love children. I’m very connected to children, but I have this strong connection to these little girls that play Arianna. Sydney and Harper are not actresses. We started working with them when they were six months old; and they have taken to so many people on the show so beautifully. They love us so much. They know us by our names. They know me by MY name which is so hard to pronounce even for an adult; so imagine how it is for a toddler! So I have so much love for them. When they’re on the set, I feel their energy. I spend time with them. I play on the floor with them. I let them put bows in my hair. That to me has been one of the most rewarding things.

Lamon: And you should see them. When Camila shows up to the set and we are down the hall, both of them sprinted towards her and jumped in her arms. They love her!

LAMON, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PLAYING THE CHARACTER OF ELI?

Lamon: Eli’s story with losing his father is tied into kind of the same thing that I went through in life. So I would say that would be the one that’s closest to my heart. Very relatable.

Galen Gering and Kristian Alfonso (Rafe and Hope, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) — Day of DAYS 2017

Enjoy highlights from the OutTakes interview with Galen Gering and Kristian Alfonso (Rafe and Hope, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) at the Day of DAYS Universal CityWalk fan event, November 11th, 2017.

Galen Gering and Kristian Alfonso (Rafe and Hope, DAYS OF OUR LIVES)

SO FIRST OF ALL, KRISTIAN, I LOVE YOUR FUN INSTAGRAM POSTS…

Kristian:  I totally destroyed Galen on Instagram as of two seconds ago. It’s nice to be able to connect with the fans. I’m still learning. There will be a whole collage coming soon.

Galen:  Oh my God…

YOU BOTH HAVE YOUR OWN EMOJIS IN THE NEW DAYS OF OUR LIVES SERIES.  HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR FANS USE YOUR EMOJIS IN CREATIVE WAYS?

Kristian:  A lot of fans have made these great tableaux. They’re so talented.

Galen:  I was at the Dodger games so there was the one of baseball during the World Series.

Kristian:  And we were Superman and Wonder Woman.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE STORYLINES OR SCENES THAT YOU HAVE WORKED ON TOGETHER?

Galen:  That one where Hope handcuffed me. That was pretty funny. She handcuffed me; and I thought it was going to be something but then she left!

Kristian:  That was punishment for Rafe setting her up. But of course you know she loved all that!  Also the Halo storyline was fun; totally unexpected and gave us the opportunity to play something completely different.

GalenAlfonso.Movie_Snapshot
Laurie Baker of OutTakes interviewing Galen Gering and Kristian Alfonso (Rafe and Hope, DAYS OF OUR LIVES)

KRISTIAN, HOW HAS IT BEEN FOR YOU PLAYING HOPE AS THE HEAD OF THE SALEM POLICE DEPARTMENT?

Kristian:  I think she’s still finding her sea legs. It is exciting. I love that they wrote that. It’s been a challenge and fun.

HOPE HAS COME A LONG WAY SINCE THE DAYS WHEN SHE WAS A ROOKIE COP.

Kristian:  She couldn’t get the bullets in the gun. She was chasing the bad guy, trying to get the bullets back out and back in!

WE ARE COMING NEAR THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE PASSING OF JOSEPH MASCOLO (STEFANO DIMERA, DAYS OF OUR LIVES).  DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL MEMORIES OF WORKING WITH HIM THAT YOU COULD SHARE?

Kristian:  Joseph was such a special guy. He was such a force and such a cupcake. He had this huge presence but he had the softest and sweetest heart. Why are you laughing?

Galen: So at work we used to have these assigned parking spots that were assigned every day. So you would get an email. Oh, parking spot 48. And there would be a thousand spots and you would be driving around. And they’re numbered and faded. So my phone’s totally frozen. And invariably I’m running late. And so I just pulled in.

Kristian: You did not do it!

Galen: I pulled into a spot. So a couple of hours or so go by. And all of a sudden, “WHO’S PARKED IN MY SPOT?!” And I was like “Oh, shit!” I didn’t even say anything. Joe was on a tirade. That was the one thing. He did NOT like anyone parked in his spot. So a couple of hours later, I go out there and he’s parked behind my car. So now I’ve got to come clean because I can’t get out unless he moves his car. So I wait around, hoping that he’s going to leave. And I’ve got to go. So I’m like, “Joe, sorry, that was me. It was an accident, okay? It was totally an accident.” And he’s like, “okay, okay…” So it was really funny because he was so intimidating. And I’m like I’m not going to be intimidated by him. It was just an accident! And then he was like super cool.

Kristian: He was a cupcake.

Galen: He had the most powerful voice and presence I think out of anyone that I ever worked with.

Kristian: He’s very missed.

IF YOU COULD PLAY ANY OTHER CHARACTER ON “DAYS OF OUR LIVES” BESIDES YOUR OWN, WHO WOULD YOU PLAY?

Galen: Probably Andre.

Kristian: I’d have to choose Hope. I just really enjoy her because you never know what you’re going to get. You really don’t. I’m so lucky because she’s such a fun character.

Billy Flynn and Marci Miller (Chad and Abby, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) — DAY OF DAYS 2017

Enjoy highlights from the OutTakes interview with Billy Flynn and Marci Miller (Chad and Abby, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) at the Day of DAYS Universal CityWalk fan event, November 11th, 2017.

Billy Flynn and Marci Miller (Chad and Abby, DAYS OF OUR LIVES)

TO USE A TERM FROM THE 1980’S TERM, IT IS SAFE TO SAY CHAD AND ABBY ARE THE “SUPERCOUPLE” OF DAYS OF OUR LIVES RIGHT NOW.  WHY DO FANS LOVE THIS COUPLE?

Billy:  It’s the simple love story. Two people who love each other unconditionally, no matter what. Until the end of the world will do anything for each other. They’re simple people and just want to make the other person happy. Chad doesn’t worry about anything else; he just wants to make Abigail happy. I think people can relate to that in a sense that it’s romantic. One guy who will do anything for one girl.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE STORYLINES OR SCENES YOU’VE DONE TOGETHER?

Marci:  Just the whole road of bringing Chad and Abby back together. There were a couple of detours with the Gabi and Dario relationships but  the love story between these two coming back together is always a favorite of mine. We really loved the vow renewal scenes and we really loved the hospital scenes after the car accident.

Billy:  We can look into each other’s eyes and just kind of get into the place where we need to be no matter where it’s at.  Even if we’re not working together for a while.

Marci:  You tell this story every single day. There’s not really another genre or means of storytelling where you’re literally living these people every single day, so there’s a lot of vulnerability that I experience with Billy.  When I look at him, there’s a whole story there. There’s a whole life there. Even though it’s pretend, your body and your brain still do go through it.

New Movie (4) (3).Movie_Snapshot

MARCI, WHAT DAYS FANS MAY NOT KNOW IS THAT YOUR FAMILY ARE DAYS OF OUR LIVES FANS.  IN FACT YOUR SISTER IS NAMED AFTER THE CHARACTER OF “KAYLA”.  HOW DID THEY REACT WHEN YOU WERE FIRST CAST ON DAYS?

Marci:  They were thrilled. I remember there was a large part of junior high and high school where we’d all run home from school, my cousins and everybody, and we’d watch the Marlena “being possessed by the devil” storyline. So they were stoked and superexcited. I didn’t even know my sister had been named after Kayla until I had already started working on the show. My mom just kind of threw that out there. My mom adores Missy Reeves. She always has since we were kids.

BILLY, NOW DID THE LOS ANGELES PREMIERE FOR YOUR INDEPENDENT FILM, DEAD ON ARRIVAL, GO?

Billy:  It was amazing. I think I was most excited about Maria O’Brien who was our acting coach on the show. Her father (Edmond O’Brien) played the part that I played in the original film in 1950.  She was my partner in the film and it was really cool to see here there.
