Enjoy highlights from the OutTakes interview with Camila Banus and Lamon Archey (Gabi and Eli, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) at the Day of DAYS Universal CityWalk fan event, November 11th, 2017.

WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR FAVORITE GABI AND ELI SCENES TOGETHER SO FAR?
Camila: The dance. For me, it was fun because I’m a dancer. They brought in a choreographer for us. I think it was Lamon’s second or third week. It was very fresh for him. To see him in such an uncomfortable position was very fun for me. It was just delicious! For him to go, “Camila, can we go over it again…please!” I could see the distress in his eyes happening; and I was enjoying every minute of it!
Lamon: For me personally, I thought it was going to be a little bit of freestyle. I thought we could just do whatever we wanted. They had a choreographer that was teaching us the steps. And I was like, “Wait. You want me to say lines too?! All of this together?” But we pulled it off. There was some great editing going on.
DAYS FANS MAY NOT KNOW THAT YOU WERE ON “DAYS OF OUR LIVES” AS AN ACTOR BEFORE PLAYING ELI…
Lamon: I was on DAYS twice. I played a new dad in a scene which I didn’t find out until later was actually about Gabi’s daughter. I was outside with Chandler; and he was tripping out because I guess he was nervous about the baby.
So he sees the father waiting.
Camila: Oh that was you?!
Lamon: Yeah, that was me. And another time I played a police officer. Really quick.
HOW DIFFERENT IS ELI FROM HOW YOUR CHARACTER OF MASON WILDER WAS ON “THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS”?
Lamon: Mason was a bad guy at “The Young and the Restless”. Completely different. Over at DAYS, I’m pretty straight and narrow. I was breaking all sorts of laws over at Y&R. Stealing credit cards and forging. There was a whole mess of stuff I was doing.

CAMILA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PLAYING THE CHARACTER OF GABI?
Camila: I love children. I’m very connected to children, but I have this strong connection to these little girls that play Arianna. Sydney and Harper are not actresses. We started working with them when they were six months old; and they have taken to so many people on the show so beautifully. They love us so much. They know us by our names. They know me by MY name which is so hard to pronounce even for an adult; so imagine how it is for a toddler! So I have so much love for them. When they’re on the set, I feel their energy. I spend time with them. I play on the floor with them. I let them put bows in my hair. That to me has been one of the most rewarding things.
Lamon: And you should see them. When Camila shows up to the set and we are down the hall, both of them sprinted towards her and jumped in her arms. They love her!
LAMON, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PLAYING THE CHARACTER OF ELI?
Lamon: Eli’s story with losing his father is tied into kind of the same thing that I went through in life. So I would say that would be the one that’s closest to my heart. Very relatable.
