Enjoy highlights from the OutTakes interview with Billy Flynn and Marci Miller (Chad and Abby, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) at the Day of DAYS Universal CityWalk fan event, November 11th, 2017.

TO USE A TERM FROM THE 1980’S TERM, IT IS SAFE TO SAY CHAD AND ABBY ARE THE “SUPERCOUPLE” OF DAYS OF OUR LIVES RIGHT NOW. WHY DO FANS LOVE THIS COUPLE?
Billy: It’s the simple love story. Two people who love each other unconditionally, no matter what. Until the end of the world will do anything for each other. They’re simple people and just want to make the other person happy. Chad doesn’t worry about anything else; he just wants to make Abigail happy. I think people can relate to that in a sense that it’s romantic. One guy who will do anything for one girl.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE STORYLINES OR SCENES YOU’VE DONE TOGETHER?
Marci: Just the whole road of bringing Chad and Abby back together. There were a couple of detours with the Gabi and Dario relationships but the love story between these two coming back together is always a favorite of mine. We really loved the vow renewal scenes and we really loved the hospital scenes after the car accident.
Billy: We can look into each other’s eyes and just kind of get into the place where we need to be no matter where it’s at. Even if we’re not working together for a while.
Marci: You tell this story every single day. There’s not really another genre or means of storytelling where you’re literally living these people every single day, so there’s a lot of vulnerability that I experience with Billy. When I look at him, there’s a whole story there. There’s a whole life there. Even though it’s pretend, your body and your brain still do go through it.

MARCI, WHAT DAYS FANS MAY NOT KNOW IS THAT YOUR FAMILY ARE DAYS OF OUR LIVES FANS. IN FACT YOUR SISTER IS NAMED AFTER THE CHARACTER OF “KAYLA”. HOW DID THEY REACT WHEN YOU WERE FIRST CAST ON DAYS?
Marci: They were thrilled. I remember there was a large part of junior high and high school where we’d all run home from school, my cousins and everybody, and we’d watch the Marlena “being possessed by the devil” storyline. So they were stoked and superexcited. I didn’t even know my sister had been named after Kayla until I had already started working on the show. My mom just kind of threw that out there. My mom adores Missy Reeves. She always has since we were kids.

BILLY, NOW DID THE LOS ANGELES PREMIERE FOR YOUR INDEPENDENT FILM, DEAD ON ARRIVAL, GO?
Billy: It was amazing. I think I was most excited about Maria O’Brien who was our acting coach on the show. Her father (Edmond O’Brien) played the part that I played in the original film in 1950. She was my partner in the film and it was really cool to see here there.
