Spinning off from the 2016 feature film “What Happened Last Night”, writer/director Candice Cain’s half-hour dramedy series “New Dogs, Old Tricks” centers on the life experiences of a group of college friends in a small town.

The core cast is comprised of Shelley Regner (Pitch Perfect franchise), Alix Kermes (Gilmore Girls), Clayton Snyder (Lizzie McGuire franchise), Cody Calafiore (Big Brother 16 & 18) and Brian Tyler Cohen (Independent’s Day). ​  Many other well-known guest stars are featured throughout the first season, including Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken, WWE wrestler-turned-commentator David Otunga, Jessie Godderz (Big Brother 11) and Paulie Calafiore (Big Brother 18 and MTV’s The Challenge).

BREAKING THROUGH THE GLASS CEILING

In a nod to the #MeToo movement, all of the female leads are being paid more than the male leads.  In addition, the production team is comprised entirely of women.  As per writer/director Candice Cain, “I don’t think there has been a show where the women earn more than the men.  I’m really proud of this…It’s about time that women have the chance to create a show in totality for public consumption.”
